Are you passionate about Information Technology (IT) but undecided about which IT course to take? The Common ICT Programme (DCITP) is designed to help you make an informed choice.
The DCITP is a semester long programme designed to give you a broad introduction to the Infocomm landscape and help you gain insights into the occupations and job roles, career pathways and employment opportunities in the various Infocomm sectors. The DCITP will also help you lay a strong foundation in programming and IT fundamentals. At the end of the year 1 semester 1, you will be able make an informed choice in selecting one of the three IT courses that you wish to pursue.
I am deeply interested in cybersecurity, nowadays I things being hacked & data being collected without us knowing. I heard Singapore Poly has a Cyber Wargame Centre which deals with real-world security threats & if I was selected in this course, I am keen in building my skills in cybersecurity and reaching my full potential. I am quite analytical, and this course requires a lot of critical thinking skills
Another thing I am interested in is artificial intelligence (AI). I read not long-ago majority of jobs will be replace with machines. We can’t stop technology from advancing but we can adapt and learn how the new technology works. I am curious on how the mind of AI works and seeing them work in our society since SG is moving to a Smart Nation.
